At Clip ‘n Climb, we don’t just lead the market, we shape it. As centres evolve with bold new design aesthetics and expectations for immersive, engaging experiences continue to rise, we’ve responded with a stylish refresh to one of our longest-standing challenges: Red Square. Designed by John Targett, founder of Clip ‘n Climb and the creative force behind many of our most iconic Challenges, this classic has now been recreated. Say hello to Quadra.
We know that your climbing challenges are more than just equipment, they’re visual icons of your centre. As part of our commitment to keeping Clip ‘n Climb venues vibrant and future-ready, Quadra was reimagined to complement the sleek, modern look of newly designed centres while keeping the climbing experience that we know climbers love.
Clip ‘n Climb Challenge – Quadra
Striking colour upgrade
The bold contrast of yellow and magenta against a dark background makes Quadra pop, enhancing both aesthetics and visibility for climbers.
“When redesigning Red Square (now Quadra) we knew we wanted to find better, more interesting ways to use existing components to create something that felt both modern and revitalised.
Quadra is part of a larger ongoing project called Challenge Refresh 2025, where we aim to systematically improve and revitalise older challenges from both an aesthetic and production-based perspective.
Part of this systematic approach includes an analysis of colour distribution, enabling us to highlight gaps or underrepresented colours within the range. This combined with user testing and feedback, results in challenges that feel fresh, are interesting to climb and standout amongst their older counterparts; ultimately granting our older challenges with a new lease of life.” Said Chaz McManus, Product Designer.
Tilted for Challenge
The square-shaped Quadro holds are rotated 45°, introducing an engaging twist, literally. This angle, shared only with our Velocity challenge, adds a unique layer of complexity without overwhelming beginner to intermediate climbers.
Narrow format, big impact
As the eighth challenge in our narrow range, Quadra is perfect for maximising wall space while offering a full-height climbing experience.
Tested and approved
Factory tested for a medium difficulty level, Quadra strikes the perfect balance between approachability and physical engagement.
Whether you’re refreshing your existing centre or opening the next Clip ‘n Climb, Quadra fits right in. It’s available in all standard heights and offers an immediate visual and functional uplift for your climbing arena.
