This month has seen the successful roll out of the first NICAS Clip afterschool club for our franchisees. NICAS is a registered charity dedicated to delivering the best coaching to make climbing accessible to all. The sessions, designed to introduce new climbers, and for the first time children as young as 6, safely to the indoor climbing arena in a fun yet structured way have proven really popular with sessions filling up fast.
Working closely with the team at NICAS, we’ve helped to develop a programme that would be suitable not just in traditional climbing centres, but also the fun climbing challenges found in Clip ‘n Climb centres. The sessions focus on the safe use of automatic belay devices, setting the foundations for climbing techniques and building climber confidence.
Instructors from NICAS delivered training sessions for the franchisees and their teams, to ensure they were qualified to deliver the course, which has two levels to complete, foundation and advanced.
The NICAS Clip afterschool club is a great addition to the wide range of sessions already held at the Clip ‘n Climb franchises, helping to increase footfall during traditionally quieter periods.
To support the franchisees with the roll out of this new offering, the marketing team at Clip ‘n Climb UK created a campaign to promote NICAS Clip afterschool club, which included a landing page, posters, social media content, emailshots and in house TV screen advertisements. Marketing support is also planned to help promote the sessions as each term ends.
And there’s room for growth! Currently, NICAS Clip is being offered as an afterschool club, but there is room to expand the offering further to encourage people of all ages to get into climbing and increase footfall further.
