The first Clip ‘n Climb centre opens at The Roxx Climbing Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Sheer Adventure and Home Solutions invent the TRUBLUE auto-belay system.

2011

EP Climbing brings Clip ‘n Climb to the UK and European markets, with the first site opening in Exeter

2011

Two new centres open in the UK: Dundonald and Maryport.

A further eight UK centres launch, including Chelsea, Bournemouth, Stockton, Whiteley, and Rustington.

ABEO Group acquires 50% of Clip ‘n Climb International (New Zealand).

BelayMate is launched to the market.

RCI Adventure Products signed a deal to manufacture and distribute Clip ‘n Climb’s.

ABEO Group acquires the remaining 50% of Clip ‘n Climb International, gaining full ownership.

Launch of the Clip ‘n Climb franchise model in the UK.

German team open sites in 3 years.

The first franchisee signs up, with their centre opening in November 2020.

Agreement signed with Saudi-based company SEVEN to open 11 new sites.

Three new franchise sites open within one month, including Clip ‘n Climb Crawley, the largest UK site by challenge count, featuring 33 challenges.

2024

The first brand licence sites open in the USA and Belgium.

2026

Three new franchise sites open within the first quarter of 2026, including Clip ‘n Climb Gloucester, the largest UK site at 14,000 sq ft.
